Use Those Overripe Bananas!
Our family loves bananas. Every time we go to the grocery store we get some and most of the time they are gone within a few days. Sometimes though, we let them sit on the counter too long and before you know it-old bananas. Usually they just get thrown away. What a waste! Every once in a while I will make some classic banana bread. Recently looking at the speckled bananas about to get thrown in the trash, I decided I wanted to do something a little different that I knew my husband and daughter would love. Double Chocolate Banana Bread!
It was a huge hit. My husband couldn’t believe how moist it was and my daughter loved her “chocolate bread”.

Making Double Chocolate Banana Bread
Okay, so super awesome plus of this recipe is you don’t have to get a ton of bowls dirty for that dreaded clean up. All you need is one bowl to mix everything up and the pan to bake it in. Nice, right?
First, mash up your bananas with a fork. Once that’s done add oil, sugar, egg and vanilla and stir. Then add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and mix all that together too. Last, mix in the chocolate chips. After greasing your baking pan, pour in the batter and sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes on 350F.
Yes, that’s all you have to do. I’m telling you it’s easy and so worth it!
Finally, grab a cold glass of milk and enjoy your Double Chocolate Banana Bread!
